Zenjob is a Berlin-based, tech-driven temporary staffing agency that provides student workers to companies. Students use the Zenjob app to book short-term jobs on an hourly basis or for several months. By way of temporary employment contracts, more than 12,000 students are dispatched each month in industries such as logistics, events, retail, and catering. Among the company's more than 1,000 customers are Uniqlo, Flixbus, Terra Naturkost, and Mercure Hotels.  Zenjob was founded in 2015 and currently employs over 250 people.

About us

Before we talk more about you, let’s start with us - the People Experience team. Why do we exist and who are we?

At Zenjob we think it’s crucial to create an outstanding experience for our Zennies. Why? Because we think this is what helps us to win over great people who we would love to work with, to enable them to do their best work and to bring so much fun to their work that they wouldn’t want to leave us. We create these experiences for over 250 Zennies across 6 cities in Germany and the Netherlands.

Sound’s ambitious? Yes, it is - but here is who we are and how we do this: Decidedly, we’re not an HR team. We’re not managing resources. We’re here to support our fellow Zennies and do our best to look after them, so that they have everything they need to build great things with the rest of us. We’re split into three teams to make this work: People & Organisational Growth, People Operations and Workplace.

As an intern in our People & Culture team, you would report directly to our Head of People Experience and support with both operational tasks and projects across our three teams. From day one, you will get empowered to take ownership over your own tasks! This way, you will learn how to create a work environment in which people are engaged and can grow as well as what is needed to enable the smooth running of a >250 people start-up.


Some of the typical things you’ll do and challenges you’ll solve 

  • Managing operational personnel administration, including document creation and management (contracts, reference letters etc.), data management, relocation & visa processes
  • Supporting our Zennies with their People & Culture related questions
  • Rolling-out and analyzing the results of our new feedback processes
  • Designing and running employee surveys, analyzing the survey results as well as other key people data (e.g. company growth, retention, absenteeism) and proposing actions to make Zenjob an even better employer
  • Organizing engaging learning opportunities & workshops either by yourself, with fellow Zennies or with external partners
  • Coming up with and executing creative events, programs and Zenjob traditions, rhythms and routines, both in-person and remote
  • Maintaining a smooth running of our workplaces by creating and implementing efficient workplace processes and managing our vendors


You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are available for at least 3 months for our full-time internship
  • You speak German and English fluently
  • Have a great passion for People & Culture topics and ideally have gained already first experience through your Bachelor or Master Studies (background in HR, Business, Psychology preferred)
  • Are an organizational talent who works independently and can juggle lots of diverse projects at once
  • Are curious to learn and don’t shy away from new challenges
  • Have a creative mindset and can develop innovative concepts for the “Future of Work”
  • Care about creating real impact and measuring it with data
  • Have an eye for detail and a knack for ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Infect the people around you with your great energy and humor
