Starting a new job can be both exciting and overwhelming. At Zenjob, we have designed an onboarding experience that helps new team members feel welcome, informed, and ready to contribute from their very first week.
Before your first day, you will receive a welcome package with your laptop, Zenjob swag, and a detailed onboarding schedule. Your buddy, a colleague from your team, will reach out to introduce themselves and answer any questions you might have. This personal touch ensures you already have a familiar face when you walk through the door.
Day one begins with a warm welcome from the People & Culture team. You will get a tour of the Berlin office, set up your workstation, and join a welcome breakfast with other new starters. The morning is deliberately relaxed, giving you time to settle in without pressure.
The first week is structured around learning sessions. You will hear from leaders across the company about Zenjob's mission, product, and strategy. These sessions are interactive, with plenty of time for questions. By the end of the week, you will have a clear picture of how your role contributes to the company's goals.
Your buddy plays a central role throughout the onboarding period. They are your go-to person for everything from finding the best coffee spot near the office to understanding team rituals and workflows. The buddy relationship is informal and supportive, designed to help you navigate the social and practical aspects of your new workplace.
During weeks two and three, you will start diving into your team's work. Engineers might begin with a small bug fix or documentation task, while designers might shadow a research session. The goal is to build confidence through early wins before taking on larger projects.
At the 30-day mark, you will have a check-in with your manager to discuss how things are going, address any concerns, and set initial goals. This conversation is a two-way street. We want to hear your fresh perspective on what is working well and what could be improved.
Onboarding at Zenjob is not a one-week event but a continuous process. We believe that investing in a thoughtful onboarding experience pays dividends in engagement, productivity, and retention. Every new team member deserves to feel like they belong.
