Life at Zenjob

At Zenjob, we strive to create a collaborative and supportive work environment. The company values transparency, communication, and creativity. Our employees are encouraged to take ownership of their work and contribute their unique skills and perspectives.

Our hiring process

Depending on the type of role and seniority, the process might be adapted. Typically, there are six stages:

1

Your Application

You have found the right job for yourself; after submission, we will review, assess the next steps and get in touch with you.

2

Meet Your Recruiter

We want to hear more about you and provide you with more information. This step will either take place on the phone or via video call. Tip: Prepare by researching our business and values!

3

Meet Your Hiring Manager

Enjoy an in-depth conversation with your potential lead about the team and the role. In addition, it will touch on assessing some key skills you'll need for the role.

4

Take-Home Assignment

We want to see your skills in action! Complete a challenge or case study to demonstrate what you're capable of (only applicable to some positions).

5

Final Round

This stage usually includes a series of interviews, including the chance to learn more about Zenjob from one of our founders. For the final round, we'd like you to visit the office if possible!

6

Offer

If all goes well, we'll make an offer to the candidate we have identified as the best for the role.

FAQ

How can I prepare for the interview?
Do some homework. Knowing a little about us and our culture and values is always good. Be yourself and honest. Ask us any questions that may be helpful for you to know. Take your time in answering, and remember to be clear about your point.
What are my next steps?
The Recruiter will inform you about the process at the end of your first interview. Of course, things can change, especially in a fast-moving environment, but our recruiter will keep you informed if anything changes.
Can you share detailed feedback if I am rejected?
Due to capacity, we can only offer feedback calls to candidates who reach the hiring manager interview stage and beyond.
Do you cover travel expenses?
We only cover travel expenses for full-time position applicants who must travel to the HQ from another location outside of Berlin's federal state. Zenjob will cover a 2nd class train ticket. We don't cover any expenses for traveling by car.
What is the average time to hire? How long should the hiring process be?
On average, we aim for our processes to take 25 calendar days. However, people involved are sometimes out-of-office or sick, so the length of time may vary.
Can I apply for more than one position at the same time?
Indeed, you can. However, we advise against applying for more than two opportunities at once. When we screen your application, we keep our various job opportunities in mind. We might even suggest applying for a different position if we find it more suitable for your profile.
I interviewed for a position at Zenjob in the past. Can I apply again? How long do I have to wait?
We strongly believe in second chances, or third, or fourth … well, you get the drift, right? And this is why we don't restrict the number of times you can apply for any position.
Is there a dress code for the interviews?
No, you don't need to dress to impress. We believe in an open culture that's free of restrictive dress codes. Formal? Semi-formal? Casual? Whatever works for you works for us as well.
How do I share feedback regarding the selection process?
We aim to provide a seamless interview experience. This is why your feedback is extremely important to us. We'll ask you to provide feedback after completing your interviews. Good, bad, ugly – whatever it is, we encourage you to share your feedback and tell us how we did.
How soon will I know if my profile is being considered for a role or not?
They say that great things take time, but at Zenjob, we work fast. We'll start working on your profile as soon as you apply for a particular role. A recruiter will be assigned to you who'll work in the background to process your application and aim to get back to you within 48 hours.
Is there a limit to the number of pages a resume should have?
We won't judge your resume based on its number of pages. After all, the more achievements and skills you have to show, the better your chances might be, right? However, we'd suggest you put precise and to-the-point information to help us understand your profile better.
